The Teatro Rojas

Yesterday we visited the Toledo´s great Teatro Rojas. This theatre is somewhat unassuming from the outside. We entered it from a back door and were asked to wait on the stage while the technician raised the curtain. There were some problems with the curtain and we waited and waited observing the stage and all of its many mechanisms. Finally the technician returned and told us that the curtain would not raise and asked if we would like to look at the house where the seating is. Of course, we did want to see it, as we have wanted to see everything that they have offered to us. Upon entering the house of the theatre Phil, Jacob and I gasped. The Teatro Rojas is perhaps the most beautiful theatre I have ever seen. If you can imagine a grand 18th century theatre fit for a king this is that theatre.

We must go now to me a painter. I will give more details later and provide some pictures of all of the wonderful things that Toledo, Spain has to offer.

Toledo, Spain

Jacob and I have been in Toledo, Spain for two days. We have met many artists and officials already. On Friday, the president of the Association took us to the Town Hall. We met a member of the Mayor´s cabinet, the Mayor´s personal body guard and the Mayor´s chauffeur. Also, we saw the Association´s office.

Nonetheless, the artists in Toledo are abundant. There are so many and they are so very excited to work with us. This is a project of the likes that has never been undertaken before. Therefore, everyone in Toledo wants our project to succeed as much as we do.

I´m not in Ohio! I´m in Spain!!

Jacob and I arrived in Spain today. Our esteemed coleague Phillip A. Stark met us at the airport (after I called to wake him up). We are currently soaking up the local color in Madrid and will move on to Toledo on Thursday. The sky is blue, there is no snow on the ground and I am off to take a siesta (nap).

Spain here I come

It's official. Joel and I will be in Spain on the 18th of January. We are completely booked and now all other preparations must begin. We have to get some equipment issues in order. While in Spain we will be doing a lot of research. We will be interviewing potential subjects for the documentary. Also scouting some locations for the establishing shots of Toledo. We will be in Spain until 28 February, so we will have about a month and a little over a week to get all of this done. I love a good challenge and can't wait to get over there and start. Oh man, I've got to go and buy some new shirts before I leave. So much to do.

2005-movie time

Happy New Year everyone. I'm sad to see 2004 go but at the same time really excited for 2005. This year is going to be the year of production for the film. Joel and I have made great progress in the last two weeks. We launched the website for the film www.twotoledos.com We also have sponsorship lined up for a good part of the budget. Things are really rolling now.

How can this not be a great year. I plan on being in Spain for a part of it. If you don't know me, then let me tell you. I live for Spanish football and Flamenco music. Now if only Real Madrid could get their act together and start playing some good football that would make for a great 2005.
